Sodexo is seeking an inclusive Food Operations Manager to oversee day to day operations of our long standing partnership with Seattle Pacific University, a nationally ranked private Christian university in Seattle, WA.

Reporting to the Food Service General Manager, the Operations Manager will be responsible for the day to day oversight of the food operations on campus – including Resident Dining, Multiple Food Retail Concepts and C Store, and Catering. Direct managers reporting to this role are Executive Chef, Catering Manager and supervisors/leads for Resident Dining and Retail concepts.

This Hands-On Food Operations Manager will oversee all Retail Operations on campus, the Front of the house Resident Dining program, and Catering. This position works closely with the entire culinary team and the marketing department to help create exceptional dining experiences. This position will also be responsible for ensuring staff is hired, trained, and motivated to exceed guests expectations by working closely with their team on a daily basis.

  • have 3 – 5 years experience managing a high volume dining operations;
  • demonstrates strong employee engagement leadership skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively;
  • demonstrates progressive management experience – run multiple platforms/venues or a very large restaurant or franchise;
  • has a passion for training and building a successful team, strong employee engagement and focus on customer services;
  • can manage multiple priorities, demonstrate professional communication skills, and a passion for a high level of customer service;
  • prioritize tasks and exhibit flexibility to take on additional responsibilities as needed; and
  • demonstrates working knowledge of Food Management Systems and is proficient in computer skills and report management experience.

Position Summary:

Provides leadership and supervision for the on-site food service exempt and non-exempt level staff in the delivery of our contractual agreement with the client. Provides supervision for food services at account/unit to ensure client satisfaction and retention for the company. Implements business practices in order to uphold company mission, values and commitments made in the Sodexo client contractual agreement.
Key Duties
- Establishes a safe work environment

- Utilizes Sodexo tools and programs to develop client, customer, and staff relationships, to ensure account retention

- Implements and fully utilizes all Sodexo tools and programs to ensure financial outcomes

- Directs daily operations of food service to ensure employees have appropriate equipment, inventory and resources, ensures operating standards and regulatory requirements are met

- Develops and implements plans, projects, with defined objectives, methods, timetables and budget to support client and Sodexo strategic plan

- Ensures adherence to all HR standards for Sodexo, client, and regulatory agencies

Qualifications & Requirements:

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
Basic Management Experience - 2 years
Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
