Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller to join our team. The Controller will play a key role in overseeing the financial operations of our commercial real estate portfolio, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all financial processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in real estate accounting, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record of success in financial management.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of financial management, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting for the portfolio and development projects.
- Manage day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management.
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data and compliance with GAAP and industry regulations.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
- Coordinate annual tax filings with external tax advisors.
- Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to safeguard assets and mitigate risk.
- Analyze financial performance and provide strategic recommendations to management for improving profitability and efficiency.
- Collaborate with property management, leasing, and development teams to support business objectives and optimize financial outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in real estate accounting or finance.
- Strong knowledge of real estate accounting principles, including CAM reconciliations, lease accounting, and property management software (e.g., Yardi, MRI).
- Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting techniques.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with colleagues, clients, and external partners.
- Detail-oriented mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proven leadership abilities with a self-starter mentality.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.

Pay: $115,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
