Production Supervisor

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced, career mined, Production Supervisor to oversee our production operations consisting of two manufacturing lines, raw materials, production team members, WIP, and scheduling. This leader delivers on daily production plans, ensures maximum efficiency in organizing workflows, and ensures that machine down time is minimal. This is currently a one shift operation, but this leader must be able to scale this operation to a second shift. In this fast paced environment, this leader is an integral part of the manufacturing process. He/She must be competent and comprehend complex manufacturing operations, math, 5S, and Lean Six Sigma. This leader must be able to optimize efficiency while minimizing the costs. The end-state is to ensure that production processes deliver products of maximum quality in a profitable manner. Finally, this leader must also be computer literate and have advanced comprehension of MS Excel.

Duties & Essential Job Functions:
 Set daily production goals; stretch goals and communicate to the production
team
 Organize workflow by assigning responsibilities and preparing schedules for
production team members
 Train, Coach, and Develop production team members
 Work cross-functionally with the Warehouse Supervisor and the Inventory
Control Supervisor to ensure a smooth process flow of finished goods
downstream
 Be the standard bearer for all safety operations in the manufacturing operation
 Work cross-functionally with the Maintenance Manager to mitigate machine
downtime, machine change over, and machine stoppages
 Be responsible for Key Performance Indicator (KPI) development and metrics
tracking
 Submit end of shift reports on daily production
 Participate in all Gemba Walks with the VP, Operations, Maintenance Manager,
Quality Manager, Warehouse Supervisor, and the Director of Supply Chain
 Identify opportunities and gaps, while offering solutions to problems issues in
efficiency and suggest improvements
 Develop a training plan for all new production team members
 Knowledgeable on aspects of Material Handling Equipment (MHE)
 Must understand FIFO and WIP

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
 Able to lift 50 LBS
 Able to sit or stand for long periods
 Hot/Cold temperatures
 Pillow Fibers in the air
 Loud noises

Qualifications:
 Excellent computer skills in Microsoft applications (Excel, Access, Word)
 Ability to navigate an ERP System to process work orders, look at production
tables to identify gaps in production operations
 Understand Lock-Out/Tag-Out Procedures
 Bi-Lingual (preferable) English/Spanish
 Ability to extrapolate data and math using those tools to help drive decisions
 Proven experience as a Production Supervisor or similar role; 5-7 years
 Experience in using various types of manufacturing machinery and tools
 Organizational and leadership abilities
 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
 Career minded, self-motivated with a results-driven approach and problem
resolution
 High School Diploma; Degree in a technical, engineering or relevant field will be
an advantage
 Experience in bedding or textile production (preferable)
 Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
 Proficiency in finance, and able to build labor plans

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
