Job Description
Softrams is seeking a Systems Analyst. The ideal candidate is someone who has performed hands-on backend testing and transitioned to a System Analyst role.
Federal Requirements
This role requires the hired candidate to go through public trust clearance. A minimum of 3 years of stay in the U.S. within the last 5 years is required to be eligible to qualify for public trust clearance sponsorship.
Work Location:
We have open-collaboration offices in Leesburg VA and Baltimore MD for those who may prefer to work on-site. However, Softrams is a 100% remote-first team environment. Softrams works in the eastern time zone and standard work hours are 9am ET to 5pm ET with flexibility around start and end times based on team needs.

Job Description
Softrams is seeking a Systems Analyst. The ideal candidate is someone who has performed hands-on backend testing and transitioned to a System Analyst role.
Federal Requirements
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Federal Position of Trust clearance designation.
- Must reside in and be able to perform work in the United States.
- Must have lived in the United States for 3 of the last 5 years.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- 4 or more years of related Systems Analyst experience to include preparing requirement documentation
- 4 or more years of experience working on system requirements for large enterprise integration projects: Web Services, SOA, APIs
- Solid knowledge of database concepts
- 2 or more years of SQL hands-on experience
- Experience in data modeling is desired
- Any experience as a tester is preferred
- Experience with Agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) is preferred
- 2 years of experience working with Federal Healthcare IT Projects. Experience with CMS related projects is preferred
- Expertise with Agile tools like JIRA, Confluence, Slack etc.
- Experience with Cloud-based architecture (AWS)
- Partner with Product Owner(s)/Data Analysts/Technical team as a primary point of contact for system related questions and requirements, with the ability to guide and escalate across product delivery team(s) as necessary.
- Understand the strategic direction of product features and related system and business processes, the impact of changes across the entire application, and the priorities of backlog. Apply knowledge of business and system capabilities to anticipate needs, address issues that arise, and deliver value to our customers.
- Apply knowledge of SDLC processes to include system process flows, team reviews of analysis, design, code, test, and deployment as well as relevant Agile ceremonies for all assigned products.
- Communicate shared vision for product quality throughout the product life cycle by writing requirements or user stories with clear acceptance criteria and advising or preparing test plans/scenarios when necessary.
- Improve overall team performance and efficiency by learning new concepts, sharing knowledge gained, and advancing product/project team capabilities through continuous improvement cycles.
- Analyze and evaluate stakeholder requirements and convert these requirements into business need statements, system specifications, and integration technical specifications.
- Be able to propose solution alternatives and high-level approaches.
- Maintain documentation on existing and new systems, including enhancements or modifications.
- Create and manage development artifacts (use cases, user stories, process flows, diagrams, requirements, technical specifications, high-level approaches, as needed).
- Collaborate with architects, developers, and QAs to ensure that solutions meet business and technical needs.
- Prepare materials in support of design reviews, feature reviews, product design sessions, and sprint reviews, as needed.
- Participate with clients in testing system changes and enhancements.
- Participate in targeted technical support, issue troubleshooting, and resolution.
- Provide follow-up to ensure success of programs.
