Software Tech Enterprises (STE) is an innovative Information Technology solutions and services provider, supporting federal agencies and companies in the public and private sectors.

STE is currently seeking a Data Specialist to support work with our client’s communication and benefit administration efforts by generating benefit statements and loading data and statements for use by our client’s automated letter generation system.

Essential Duties:
  • Performs an active role in the acquisition, initial review, evaluation and determination of the usability of data contained in the automated systems of Plan Service Providers such as, actuarial firms, banks, insurance companies, plan administrators, and other outside entities
  • Provides guidance and technical assistance to client’s Processing Division Staff and other client staff on the efficient transformation of acquired data into useful information and integrating data within the client’s Benefits Administration and Payment Division (BAPD) and corporate systems
  • Provide support for the standardized data services of our client trusteed case processing life cycle
  • Perform testing of actuarial, benefits administration or other case processing systems
  • Provide formal and informal training to client staff on use of case processing systems
  • Assist with identifying, collecting, processing, and analyzing large volumes of data to build and enhance products, processes, and systems
  • Perform simple to moderate data/information manipulation work to solve problems, and ensure deadlines are met
  • Responds to various requests as assigned requiring data selected from client and or corporate databases to enable client to respond to inquiries
  • Communicate accurately, understandably and minimize subsequent request for clarification or the required involvement of other staff
  • Reviews actuarial valuation software for completeness, accuracy and functionality
  • Archive software and an assortment of participant and plan files to ensure it is available for long term future use
  • Provides end-user support and possibly training to Federal and contract personnel
General Experience:
  •  Four years of experience with enterprise database tools, desktop database tools, programming/scripting languages, system analysis, data/records management and conversions
  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office (2013 or higher) enterprise desktop applications
  • Communicate effectively and accurately in the English language with all levels of personnel both written and orally
  • Must demonstrate the ability to work independently or under only general direction
  • Multi-task and prioritize work in order to meet specific deadlines and deliverables
Required Experience:
  • Four years of experience with desktop database programs or query tools such as Microsoft Access to perform sorting, querying, merging, reconciling and manipulation of large, multi-table databases.
  • Four years of experience using SQL, Visual Basic and or Oracle tools.
  • Four years of experience with spreadsheet programs such as Microsoft Access and Excel (2013 or higher) to perform merges, sorting, importing, exporting, parsing, and formatting.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex processes, functions and procedures that may impact operations and workflow activities and translate into requirements.
