What are the responsibilities and job description for the Store Operations Intern position at Softworld Inc?
Store Operations Intern
Ideal applicants will be those focused on supply chain or operations, but any business or engineering focuses will also be prioritized. All majors/focuses welcome to apply.
Note: Majority of work in the "Garage" is in non-air-conditioned warehouse space. There will be an air-conditioned office/breakroom space available, with ample breaks given and hydration available. Shorts and loose-fitting clothing are allowed. Shoes must be closed-toed.
Expected Hours: 32-40 hours per week, primarily Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm, but some weekend shifts may be required
There will be three primary roles - all applicants are applying for the entire project and will be assigned to one or more of these roles throughout the project:
- Garage Data & Direction:
- Utilizes basic Microsoft Excel worksheets and other data or text entry forms
- Provides direction to Stocking Team
- Ensures completion of daily tasks and checklists
- Plans and organizes processes (set-up, labeling, etc)
- Garage Stocking:
- Moves product from one location to another at direction of project leadership or "Garage Data & Direction" intern
- Sorting and stocking of product, breakdown of cardboard and trash
- Loading and unloading of stock onto and off trucks
- Store Observations:
- Will follow specified process for visiting stores, introducing themselves to store staff, and then conducting store observations
- Time studies
- Store interviews and collection of store forms
- Some limited stocking and movement of product at store locations
