Job Overview

The Associate, PR + Editorial will support the creation, implementation and execution of communications strategies, content creation and editorial management to promote Soko Glam, Then I Met You & The Klog. This role will actively display passion for storytelling and an innovative approach to content and communications in addition to the ability to be thoughtful and strategic, while simultaneously executing and producing results in a fast-paced environment.

This role supports PR, Marketing and The Klog teams by developing internal and external content. We are looking for someone who will help amplify our voice and culture as we continue to grow. This person should be a motivated team player that can wear multiple hats and requires someone who understands the ever changing media landscape including technology and project management.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing and delivering dynamic pitches, high quality press releases and messaging to elevate Soko Glam and Then I Met You key initiatives and content
  • Research, write, build and maintain beauty and lifestyle content on The Klog
  • Secure and maintain strong working relationships with media and influencers across consumer beauty, lifestyle, fashion and beyond
  • Identify digital influencers and companies to form strategic partnerships and support development and coordination of influencer outreach programs
  • Help plan and manage giveaways, sweepstakes, social referrals, and other partnerships
  • Assist the Retention, Acquisition and Social teams in email, newsletter and social strategies and execution
  • Regularly respond to comments and facilitate conversation on The Klog site
  • Contribute to the creation of communication plans that meet company objectives
  • Manage multiple projects from conception to completion. Including but not limited to anticipating /contingency planning for challenges, adhering to deadlines, meeting budgets etc.
  • Help develop, create and maintain a calendar, curate and post content and identify what type of content is best tailored to the ever-changing needs of The Klog
  • Maintain and track performance, contacts and coverage for PR, The Klog and Marketing experiences
  • Assist with conceptualizing, writing scripts, directing and editing videos for The Klog
  • Provide monthly, quarterly and ad-hoc reporting for Soko Glam and Then I Met You
  • Assist on ad-hoc special projects and events, providing project management and administrative support
  • Actively partner with cross-functional departments to ensure fully integrated and optimized approaches are adopted
  • Present strategy and report to senior management

Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years relevant experience preferably in public relations/communications, journalism and or marketing
    • Mix of communications, editorial and content creation experience highly preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Excellent communication skills with a strong eye for detail, including verbal and written and research abilities with a clear voice
  • Experience with Cision and similar platforms; working knowledge of Google, Google Analytics, Microsoft suites and other office technologies
  • Thorough understanding of social media including Instagram, Facebook, Youtube, Snapchat, Pinterest & TikTok
  • Self-starter attitude with a demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple projects under pressure
