Financial Analyst
SOL Group is currently seeking an experienced Financial Analyst to join our team in Pompano Beach, Florida (33069).
About Us:
Sol Group Marketing is a fully owned subsidiary of Fyffes, one of the largest and oldest tropical produce importers and distributors around the world. Sol is the leading producer and distributor of offshore melons in North America, and the largest grower and importer of winter melons.
Job Summary:
The Financial Analyst supports the Chief Financial Officer of Sol Group Marketing and the business heads to build their annual budgets and forecasts. The role ensures the accuracy and integrity of the financial analysis and implements improved accrual and forecasting models, supporting decision making.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned by management.
- Support the annual budget process, including detailed evaluation of all budget plans, budget compilation, and final presentation.
- Deliver scheduled management reports, including information requested by Corporate.
- Update forecasts and keep the accuracy of the data reported.
- Analyze financial and operational results to better understand company performance.
- Utilize BI tools to deliver meaningful insights into business performance.
- Communicate to senior management the reasons behind the product/department performance and results.
- Provide detailed analysis and commentary on cost center results.
- Reviewing operations and recommending new productivity or cost saving initiatives.
- Reviewing existing processes and procedures to develop recommendations for improvement efforts.
- Evaluating previous budgets, expenditures to develop and implement future budgets.
- Communicating results and recommendations to senior management for improvements.
- Provide insights to senior management around financial modelling, forecasts, and profitability.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in finance or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of corporate FP&A experience.
- Financial analysis and financial modelling experience required.
- Spanish is a plus.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong presentation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Excellent computer skills; expert user of Excel, PowerPoint, and ERP systems.
