Architectural Draftsman

JOB SUMMARY

SoLa Impact is looking for a dynamic, resourceful, and entrepreneurial-minded Architectural Draftsman for its primary office in Southern California (Greater Los Angeles Area). The successful candidate will be responsible for creating technical drawings from the designs of architects and engineers. They will incorporate measurements and building codes for construction, use CAD software to print schematics used by architects, building contractors and engineers and enter CAD data to create 3-D design models.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Draft Architectural designs, primarily using computer-aided design (CAD);

• Collect and synthesize all data necessary for design/space planning and programming;

• Perform 3D design;

• Create models out of rough hand sketches and walks in the field;

• Prepare construction documents;

• Research related code, building and zoning requirements, ZIMAS and EPICLA;

• Attend project and on-site meetings and reviews;

• Review accuracy and ensure the quality of deliverables to meet deadlines;

• Maintain current as-built drawing database;

• Work closely with the team throughout the construction process.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Certification or Associates Degree in Architectural Drafting;

• Ability to perform task proficiency in AutoCAD and related software applications (Adobe Photoshop, MS Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat and Blue Beam);

• Sense of urgency to meet and exceed deadlines coupled with the capacity to multi-task with ease;

• Ability to thrive in a highly collaborative environment with keen attention to detail.
