Overview

The Product Manager is responsible for conducting research, delivering market justification for developing new products or product enhancements and extensions to the existing products and product lines.

This position influences products, from cradle to grave including but not limited to concept development, justification, prototyping, costing, pricing, developing sales tools and product releases with consistent evaluation throughout the product’s life cycle.

The Product Manager works closely with Sales, Operations, Marketing, and the manufacturing departments to identify the product value proposition for the A&D community, contractors, and specifiers.

· Follow and advance with the established product road map for evaluation of existing product lines and champion the launch of new products.

· Market and competitor research

· Product ideation with analysis of manufacturing, application, and functionality

· Input for production, pricing and plans for product roll out.

· Generation and maintenance of product documentation, resources, testing data, and technical specifications.

· Strong involvement in customer communication, product presentation, technical support, sales / marketing strategies and collateral development with integration of innovative platforms.

· Deliver education of products and processes to our internal and external teams.

Job Functions and Responsibilities

· Determines market / customer needs and desires through research and interactions with sales team, architects, designer, and contractors’ community.

· Develops and manages new products or product enhancements with coordination/support from Management, Sales, Operations, and Marketing teams.

· Create and maintain relationships with current vendors while exploring all new opportunities.

· Determines product pricing by utilizing market research, sales data, reviewing production cycle and sales costs, as well as anticipated sales volume.

· Provides management with short and long-term product sales forecasts and profitability by

Product or product line.

· Continually measures and adds updates to existing product literature, website, product messaging, marketing strategies and sales collateral in collaboration with marketing team.

· Maintains professional and technical knowledge through research, education and interactions with sales, design and contracting community.

· Attendance and presentations at educational workshops and trade shows.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

:

· Experience and knowledge of construction with aluminum products, extrusion process and manufacturing of architectural building materials is a plus.

· Minimum 5 years experience in manufacturing environment, with custom solutions for commercial building construction industry.

· 4-year college degree in Business, Management, or Industrial Design/Engineering

· Minimum 2 to 4 years experience in Product Management with proven record of success through deliverables.

· Experience and knowledge of working with the Architectural and Design Community on developing product solutions.

· Strong passion for order and transparency in the handling of product from cradle to grave

· Solid understanding of process flow with the ability to champion progression.

· Understanding of standards, materials, process in commercial building construction.

  • Proficient use of Microsoft Atlas, NAV 365, Business Central, MS Office preferred.

· Excellent communication skills to effectively work autonomously while relying on team collaboration throughout organization.

· Ability to give and receive constructive feedback.

· Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

· Ability to learn and understand AutoCAD software, Autodesk inventor and parametric modeling is plus.

· Ability to evaluate product safety, appearance, and function to determine practical development approach.

· Ability to evaluate product feasibility from conceptual design.

· Mechanically inclined and acute attention to the detail

· Professional level verbal and written communication skills, including - editing, proofreading and presentations to internal and external stakeholders

· Ability that considers current methods and resources while also evaluating unprecedented

approaches.

Physical Requirements

· Sit for extended periods of time.

· Use their hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.

· Repeat the same movements.

· At times dusty due to the manufacturing environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
