Job description
We are looking for a skilled Quality Control Inspector to work in our manufacturing facility. In this position, you will work closely with manufacturing and engineering departments with engineered-to-order products. You will ensure that all products made in the facility conform to industry, company, and customer expectations. You must be able to read blueprints, know how to use a variety of hand and power tools, and be able to stand for extended periods. You must have excellent technical knowledge and possess great manual dexterity. The ability to read instructions represented in manuals, drawings, schematics, etc., and follow them with precision is extremely important.
The goal is to ensure all products are functionally working as expected to customer specifications. We prefer candidates who have Quality Control experience in functionality testing electronic components.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Read and comprehend instructions and follow established procedures
- Collect all materials and equipment needed to Inspect the product
- Take precision measurements and specifications to ensure the testing of components
- Check output to ensure the highest quality
- Maintain equipment in good condition
- Keep records of production quantities and time
- Report on issues, malfunctions, or defective parts
- Work with other Inspectors to meet ship dates
- Test and inspect components for uniformity and quality
- Log your productivity
Skills and Experience
- Proven experience as an assembler (3-5 years required)
- Technical knowledge and ability to read blueprints, drawings, etc.
- Good understanding of quality control principles
- Good communication skills (verbal and written)
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and physical condition
- High school diploma or GED certificate
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Experience working with large machinery
- Familiarity with standard power and hand tools
Physical Requirements
- Requires the ability to stoop; reach; stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time.
- Push and/or pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds; to lift and carry objects weighing up to 30 pounds.
- This position may lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Use finger dexterity to operate a computer and other office equipment and hand strength to grasp files and other objects.
- Ability to hear and verbally exchange ideas and information with the public, staff, and others on the phone and in the office.
- May require the ability to climb stairs, kneel and/or crouch to retrieve equipment and other items.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
