We are actively interviewing experienced Certified Occupational Therapist Assistants (COTA) for a full-time role with school districts in the LaBelle, Florida area for the 2024-2025 school year.
Position Overview : The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide essential therapy services to students within school districts.
This role involves implementing therapy plans, conducting therapeutic activities, and documenting student progress to support their educational and developmental needs.
Key Responsibilities :
- Assist in the development and implementation of individualized education programs (IEPs) for students.
- Provide therapeutic interventions to enhance students' motor skills, sensory processing, and functional abilities.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school personnel to ensure comprehensive support for students.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of student progress and therapy sessions.
- Modify school environments and activities to promote student engagement and participation.
- Conduct screenings and support assessments as directed by the Occupational Therapist.
Requirements :
- Education : Associates degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
- Certification : Certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
- Licensure : Valid state license to practice as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in Florida.
- Experience : Previous experience in a school setting is preferred.
- Skills : Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to work effectively as part of a team, and proficiency in documenting therapy activities.
