Job Description : As a School Counselor for the Extended School Year (ESY), you will provide essential support to students during the summer months to address their academic, social, and emotional needs.
Your responsibilities will include :
- Conducting individual and group counseling sessions to address students' social and emotional concerns.
- Collaborating with school staff, parents, and community resources to develop and implement interventions to support student success.
- Providing crisis intervention and support as needed to ensure the safety and well-being of students.
- Assisting students in developing academic and career goals and creating plans to achieve them.
- Conducting classroom guidance lessons on topics such as social skills, decision-making, and career exploration.
- Participating in the development and implementation of behavior intervention plans and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) as needed.
Qualifications :
- Master's degree in School Counseling or related field from an accredited program.
- State certification or licensure as a School Counselor in Connecticut.
- Previous experience working as a School Counselor, preferably in a school setting.
- Strong counseling, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
