What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sign language interpreter position at Soliant?
Minimum 1 years intrepreter experience required.
As a School Sign Language Interpreter, you will play a crucial role in facilitating communication between a student who is homebound and the educational environment.
This position entails providing one-on-one interpretation services to ensure the student has full access to educational materials, lectures, and discussions.
Responsibilities :
- Provide clear and accurate interpretation of spoken language into American Sign Language (ASL) and vice versa.
- Assist the student in understanding classroom instructions, discussions, and assignments.
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents to ensure the student's educational needs are met.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
Requirements :
- Must hold a valid certification as a Sign Language Interpreter.
- EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) score of 4.0 or higher is required.
- Previous experience working in educational settings preferred.
- Strong proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and English.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt to different learning styles and environments.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States.
