Soliant is currently seeking a dedicated and skilled School Sign Language Interpreter to join our team for the 2023-2024 School Year.

Responsibilities :

  • Virtually provide sign language interpretation services to deaf or hard-of-hearing students in various educational settings, such as classrooms, assemblies, field trips, and extracurricular activities.
  • Interpret spoken language into sign language and vice versa, facilitating clear communication between students, teachers, and other school personnel.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other educational staff to understand the curriculum and specific instructional goals, adapting interpretation techniques accordingly.
  • Work closely with individual students to provide one-on-one interpretation services during assessments, tests, and other academic activities.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance sign language skills and stay updated with best practices in educational interpreting.

Qualifications :

  • Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other relevant sign language(s).
  • Certification as a sign language interpreter from a recognized institution or equivalent experience in state.
  • Must have 3.0 EIPA or higher
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines.
  • Bachelors Degree in ASL or Education Interpreting.
