Job Title : Sign Language Interpreter SLI - ASL Interpreter
We are interviewing for an SLI position in the area for the upcoming school year .
Details / Specifications :
- August 2024 May 2025
- Full Time 37.5 hours per week
- Onsite
- Caseload :
- 1 : 1 assignment with elementary school student with hearing loss
- Student will also be accompanied by 1 : 1 paraprofessional

Responsibilities :
- Interpret spoken language into sign language and vice versa during classes.
- Facilitate communication between the student, teachers, peers, and staff.
- Adapt sign language to match the student's comprehension and educational content.
- Review lesson plans and materials to prepare for classes.
- Promote an inclusive learning environment and raise awareness about deaf culture.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in ASL or Educational Interpreting
- SLI National Certification
- State Sign Language Interpreter Certification
- Fluency in American Sign Language ASL
- School experience preferred
