What are the responsibilities and job description for the Database Architect (Partial Remote) position at Solidus Technical Solutions?
Solidus is searching for a Data Architecture.
Candidate will join a team has significant focus on the application of modern software engineering principles and commercial best practices to define and prototype data architecture solutions, that provide mission critical capabilities to the warfighter. Applying a combination of approaches ensures seamless information sharing from the tactical edge to cloud-based environments. Success is achieved by participating in all phases of the program, including problem analysis and innovative solution design, system architecture, rapid prototyping, and field-testing, and ultimately transfer of our technology.
Requirements
- US Citizenship and the ability to obtain DOD Secret Clearance; Active Secret highly preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 5 years’ minimum relevant experience
- Proven work experience as a Data Architect with some software development experience. This position is not for a database person that runs backend scripts but more someone to architect and do development.
- Data Bus, Data Ops, and Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) technologies
- APIs (e.g. REST, gRPC,JMS, AMQP, MQTT, MQTT, Webhooks)
- In-depth understanding of database structure principles and big data engineering
- Distributed data architectures
- SQL and Oracle and writing SQL queries against large data sets.
- ElasticSearch and other NoSQL databases
- Cloud databases, migration to cloud databases (e.g., AWS, AZURE, Google)
- Data lake, data warehouse, data fabric, and data mesh architectures
- Python, Java, C, and / or C (listed in the preferred order)
- Agile development methods
- Gathering and analyzing system requirements
- Leveraging third party Cloud Service Providers (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)
- Reviewing and assessing existing enterprise data-driven applications, to support new features, performance improvements, upgrades, and ongoing sustainment
- Analyzing a large, complex system to determine performance bottlenecks, application bugs, and opportunities to improve efficiency
- Developing very large distributed systems with low-latency streaming
- Knowledge of data mining and segmentation techniques
- Knowledge of data architectures for the commercial world
- Knowledge of existing DoD data architectures and technique
- Ability to synthesize diverse requirements and communicate them to different audiences
- Highly effective written and verbal communication skills
