Solitude is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual who enjoys the outdoors and breathtaking views of the Wasatch Mountains. The slope groomer is a valued and important position as they are to provide a smooth skiing surface and consistent snow density and distribution to enhance the guest's enjoyment and maximize their safety. SPECIFIC JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Safety consciousness is required
- Mechanical aptitude is required
- Heavy equipment experience is preferred
- Concentration and hand-eye coordination skills
- Receptive and responsive to instruction
- Ability to work well with others is required
- Communication skills and dependability preferred
- Must be willing to work swing and graveyard shift
- Must provide our basic tool kit
- Must have reliable transportation for extreme conditions
- Must have a phone to maintain communication
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work as a snowmaker preseason (starting mid-October). Snowmaking involves operating and maintaining snow guns, hydrants, hoses, and pumps, heavy lifting and snow shoveling.
- Competently perform the required vehicle and equipment inspections and servicing records
- Safely operate equipment that the operator has been trained to operate
- Be responsive to direction and instruction during training and while performing assignments
- Provide the best product possible and concentrate on improving techniques
- Quickly and accurately report any problems with products and equipment.
- Assist mechanics or coworkers with minor repairs and equipment changes
- Maintain the cleanliness of equipment and facilities
- Exhibit professional conduct and proper radio etiquette.
