Position Overview
The purpose of this position is to perform lab tests to determine the physical characteristics of all materials and ensure they meet the customer’s expectations. This needs to be done in a timely fashion to minimize the scrap incurred due to lack of quality.
Essential Job Functions
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment
- Maintain 5S Program
- Set up, adjust and operate lab equipment and instruments.
- Test finished goods for density, tensile properties, and other required metrics.
- Test product samples for specificity conformance.
- Must know how to use a cut knife to obtain test samples from rolls.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent work experience required
- 1 – 2 years of work experience in manufacturing, preferred
- Ability to speak, read and write English fluently
- Ability to enter data into ERP/ MRP system
- Ability to work in Microsoft Office
- Ability to read and interpret production schedules, instructions, and procedures
- Ability to follow instructions
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. unassisted
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, some simple multiplication and division) required working with product weights, lengths, etc.
- Ability to work in a plant environment with exposure to heat
- Works 12 hour shifts on a rotating shift basis
