About the role.
The Principal Product Manager is responsible for product planning and execution throughout the product life cycle for assigned products (Gloo Mesh). This role works cross functionally across engineering and other R&D teams, product marketing, sales and Solo customers and community. The role provides regular and open interactions with Solo’s customers and users through Slack, Github and customer calls.
Job Description:
- Build and execute on a product roadmap for our Istio based service mesh products
- Write enhancement requirements
- Orchestrate technical enablement sessions for our field engineers
- Meet with customers and help them meet their goals via enhancement delivery
- Perform research on the service mesh market
- Grooming and prioritizing issue backlog
- Work closely with engineering to map customer and market requirements to product delivery
Job Requirements:
- 7 years of product management experience with infrastructure software or cloud services
- A previous engineering background or similar technical background is preferred. Our ideal candidate will have a baseline technical understanding of Kubernetes.
- Experience with one or more is preferred: Istio, Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenShift, Amazon EKS, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) and Anthos
