Stamping Press Operators

Solon Manufacturing Company, located in Chardon Ohio is a premier designer and manufacturer of Belleville spring washers and industrial pressure switches, actively seeking experienced 1st shift Stamping Press Operators to operate compound and progressive stamping presses, performing all necessary manufacturing tasks to produce a quality part in a safe and timely manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operate overhead crane to load material into coil cradle
• Set up and adjust material feeding equipment
• Troubleshoot and adjust or repair equipment setups to provide operation to production and quality requirements
• Run production parts to engineering specifications and quality requirements as defined in work order, work instructions and/or control plans
• Inspect parts and record data as required by work order, control plans and/or as defined in work instructions
• Remove job from press, return any unused material to its proper location and return die set to the die room as defined by work instructions
• Perform maintenance, as required, to equipment associated with the press room
• Perform housekeeping duties to maintain a clean, safe, work environment
• Provide physical inventory information as required
• Maintain appropriate records
• Cross train in other departments to be a “Floater” when needed

Experiences, Competencies, Skills and Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent, a technical degree a plus
• Proficient stamping press operation and set-up experience required
• Strong math and mechanical aptitude
• Critical thinker and problem solver
• Proficient with various inspection and measuring tools
• Ability to regularly lift or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds
• Certified forklift operator
• Regularly exposed to loud noise level

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
