Job Description
The Data Analyst role supports the overall health of the Business Units through data collection, consolidation, and analysis for cost reduction, reducing risk to supply, managing supplier relationships, and overall improvement of the global supply chain. This job scope covers the product requirements globally for North America, Europe, and Asia Operations with the Business Units.

Responsibilities

Collect and manipulate data from the data warehouse, Cognos, One Stream, and various ERP’s AX, Macpac, Mapics, and Baan on supplier spend, costing, and delivery performance.
Develop reporting routines for analysis of commodity and raw materials cost.
Track Supplier Quotations for components and materials for assigned suppliers or product group.
Research product comparisons and prices.
Determine cost-effectiveness and price history to determine if time is right for purchasing.
Maintain a network of parts and equipment suppliers.
Document purchases of equipment by area and specification.
Purchase needed subscriptions from the most cost-effective supplier.
Maintain an awareness of supply and related global situations.
Support the development of short- and long-term sourcing strategies with leadership.
Prepare reports on the suppliers and vendors and submit them for review.
Develop, monitor, pursue, and execute tactical and strategic initiatives in the areas of commodities, vendor/contract relationships, and supplier management.
Procurement analysts constantly keep up to date with the changes that may affect the supply and demand for products and materials.
Develop and provide reports to Purchasing Management and Buyers needed to develop business and supply chain strategies.

Qualifications

Competent skills in creating reports and presentations that communicate data analytics.
Proficient in using data analysis software programs and competent in statistical techniques to analyze data sets.
Bachelor’s degree in business or related field and/or 5 years of successful experience in Purchasing as a Tactical Buyer.
Strong computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office, advanced Excel skills, MS PowerPoint, and MS Power BI.
Experience with ERP systems is a plus.
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills are needed at all organizational levels.
Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
Judgment and Decision Making- Consider potential actions’ relative costs and benefits to choose the most appropriate one.
Problem Sensitivity - The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.
Minimal travel.
