Senior Functional Test Hardware Engineer

You will design, build and deploy automated production test stations for our customers. These test systems will perform functional tests of our customers' latest boards and products. In addition, you will be part of a design team that creates new test products.

Responsibilities

• Develop system level concepts for custom test stations to meet customer requirements.
• Select and integrate hardware for test stations.
• Work with suppliers to develop test fixtures.
• Document designs.
• Design, layout and bring-up custom interconnection PCBAs.
• Debug, troubleshoot and verify test stations.
• Act as a team lead in mentoring and guiding the work of junior team members.
• Assist manufacturing technicians as they assemble and wire your designs.
• Install test systems at the customer sites and at their manufacturing facilities.
• Engage with Sales to support quoting opportunities
• Engage with Purchasing to support component ordering

Desired Technical Skills and Experience

• 5 years experience designing, documenting and building test systems
• Expertise with test instruments and measurement techniques including analog and digital
• Work with suppliers to develop test fixtures and interconnects
• Solid understanding of interconnection issues between the device under test and test instruments
• Knowledge of electrical circuits in our test stations and in our customer's products
• Excellent debug and troubleshooting skills
• Software development in Python and/or LabVIEW is a plus
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with our team and with customers
• Technical degree like BSEE, BSCS or similar field of study preferred
