POSITION SUMMARY
- Gathers and documents demographic and financial data on patients
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Employees are expected to work consistently to demonstrate the mission, vision, beliefs, core values and standards of behavior of the organization.
- Gathers, verifies, and enters demographic and financial data on patients registered.
- Obtain consents, assignment of benefits, and releases.
- Print labels and ID bracelets and distributes with admission forms.
- Provides patients with information required by federal mandates, i.e., Patient Rights and Responsibilities, Advance Care Directives, and important messages from Medicare/Campus.
- Scans insurance cards as required.
- Initiates inquiries and ensures receipt of pre-certification and pre-authorization for services.
- Receives and provides shift report at beginning and end of shifts.
- Prepares Workers Compensation form for work related injuries.
- Provides Medicaid Injury form to Medicaid patients being treated in the Emergency Department for injuries.
- Obtains information in reference to religious preference and affiliation.
- Checks insurance eligibility through E-Verify
- Receives, logs, and secures valuables.
- Participates in Admissions Quality Management Program.
- Participates in appropriate role in disasters, fire drills, fires and other emergency situations.
- Practices infection control through adherence to department and hospital policies and procedures.
- Practices safe transport of patients.
- Insures that the MSPQ is completed on all Medicare patients.
