Role Overview
SURFACE UTILITY WORKER
Solvay is currently accepting resumes for entry-level positions in Surface Utility Operations.
We are looking for:
- Provide utility and cleanup maintenance support for all surface facilities.
- Ensure safe and continuous operations.
- Operate mobile equipment and perform general labor tasks such as shoveling, painting, mowing, moving materials and cleaning.
- Perform duties as assigned by supervisor.

You will bring:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Prior industrial work experience preferred.
- Capable of understanding and learning all safety requirements of the surface utility position.
- Capable of learning how to operate various types of mobile equipment.
- Must be able to read and write to understand logbooks, work orders, equipment operation and maintenance instructions.
- Must have vision clarity at 5 feet or more and be able to adapt vision in low light, dusty conditions and enclosed areas (with or without corrective lenses.)
- Must be capable of deciphering colors.
- Must be able to work in dusty, hot and/or noisy environments.
- Must be able to ascend and descend four to ten foot ladders and stairways on a regular basis to gain access to elevated work areas.
- Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions.
- Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry equipment and materials weighing up to 50 pounds from ground level to above head level on a regular basis.

- The U.S. base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this position is $30.00 to $32.85 per hour. Since actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted base salary range. Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives.
