Inventory Control Manager

Solvis Employment Services is Now Hiring an experienced Inventory Control Manager for a distribution company in Pico Rivera.

Overview

The Inventory Control Manager will be in charge of overseeing and coordinating all inventory control functions and personnel for the distribution center.

Essential Job Functions

· Manages key Inventory metrics including Total Inventory, Expiry, E&O and DFC

· Partners with sales and marketing to find unique opportunities to deplete down non-productive inventory

· Owns destruction process and governance of idle inventory

· Investigates physical inventory discrepancies and correct to ensure alignment between our inventory system and the physical inventory. Reports on inventory activities and variances. Analyzes all proposed inventory adjustments within the system and recommend action.

· Identifies the root cause of any inventory discrepancies and communicates the cause to the Director of Finance and DC management, or other cross-functional members of the company leadership team.

· Reviews the physical inventory count process and ensures inventory accuracy by implementing and overseeing a successful counting process.

· Provides leadership to an inventory control team working in the distribution center.

· Identifies, maintains, and monitors inventory control methodologies for continuous improvement.

· Works with staff to ensure that any inventory moves are being properly recorded and executed.

· Ensures that accurate inventory system records are available to accounting in a timely manner for month end close and reconciliation.

· Tracks the inventory flow of all seasonal products as applicable.

· Collaborates with management to continually update SOP's to ensure best practices are published and staff training is provided.

· Works with Safety and Loss Prevention Manager to minimize shrinkage in the distribution center.

· Maintains cycle count schedule assuring accurate and complete count of inventory during cycle counts and year-end inventory.

· Reviews inventory on a consistent basis for expired and obsolete inventory and communicate results to upper management.

Requirements

· 10 years of management experience in distribution center/warehouse operations. Retail industry experience is a plus.

· At least 5 years of management experience within Inventory Control.

· Proven experience effectively leading an inventory organization.

· Experience with developing or improving inventory management, or warehouse management systems and processes.

· Work experience using the Microsoft Suite including intermediate ability with Excel

· Strong analytical, math, data analysis, listening & communication skills.

· Ability to quickly pick up various software systems and data analysis tools.

· Strong project management and continuous improvement skills.

· Metrics driven mindset.

· Effective communicator and leader for employees, direct reports, cross-functional teams and executive leadership.

· Proven ability to quickly adapt and drive the right results using data.

· Must be detailed oriented.

· Advanced organization and time management skills.

· Ability to work both individual and collaboratively.

· Must have the ability to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.

· Must flexible to work evening and/or nightshift.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to airborne particles. moving mechanical parts and vibration. Temperatures in the warehouse may correspond to seasonal outdoor temperatures – may be warm in the summer or cool in the winter.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. Frequently sitting and typing for much of the day. This position is also very active and often requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $95,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
