Construction Field Technician

A field technician on our team will bring strong detail and analytical skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, solution-oriented knowledge, and a collaborative attitude that is essential for working in our multi-company and multi-departmental organization.

Some of the types of activities that they will be involved with are :

• Work closely with engineering staff, clients and contractors to coordinate onsite field services.
• Perform Materials Quality Assurance Testing and Inspection of construction works in progress, including concrete, soils, asphalt and other construction materials.
• Timely prepare and submit Daily Field Reports.
• Complete a variety of standard field tests and calculations associated with Materials Quality Assurance Testing and Inspection services.
• Monitor concrete placement operations and mold compressive strength test cylinders.
• Prepare and transport construction materials test specimens, and recording test data.
• Laboratory testing of soil and other construction materials.
• Complete comprehensive measurement, computing, reporting, and documentation along with following standard processes, procedures, and report standards.

Requirements:

• Duties will require lifting, carrying and pulling in excess of 50 lbs. occasionally, 20-50 lbs. frequently and up to 10 lbs. consistently.
• Duties will require frequent bending, walking, sitting and standing.
• Exposure to outdoor work assignments in inclement weather, including rain, snow, heat, cold, hail, etc.
• Minimum of 0-3 years of experience
• Willingness to work in a team setting, be punctual, detail orientated, communicative
• Legal authorization to work in the United States
• Insurable driving record

Preferred but not required:

• Experience with Concrete Testing, In-Place Nuclear Density Testing, etc.
• Concrete Field-Testing Technician - Grade 1 – ACI, Density Technology Certified – MDOT, Concrete Technician - Level I - Michigan Certified

Pay: From $19.00 per hour
