SUMMARY – As a “face of Somerset Trust Company” you are an essential part of the customer experience in the branch and will have a high level of contact with new and existing customers while providing product focused and professional customer service. You must exceed expectations with your knowledge to sell products and services to customers and be able to communicate clearly and respectfully and have ability to resolve issues as they arise. Employee must practice sound decision making and maintain consistent performance as he/she performs all duties.


QUALIFICATIONS -To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty with consistent accuracy.   • Greets customer with a smile.
  • Talks with customers by phone or in person and receives requests for new accounts, CD's, IRAs, safe deposit boxes, and other types of accounts.
  • Fills out contract forms, determines charges for service requested, collects deposits, prepares change of address records, and issues discontinuance orders. (Including Safe Deposit, Night Depository and New Accounts, and Stop Payments.)
  • Assists customers with account problems, including reconcilement and current transactions.
  • Adjusts complaints concerning billing or service rendered, referring complaints of service failures to designated departments for investigation. (Including Safe Deposit Boxes and Night Depository)
  • Processes checks orders and appropriate supplies for new accounts.
  • Prepares daily and monthly reports of day-to-day operations as required
  • Assists with STC Anywhere inquiries and applications .
  • Responsible for the shipment and ordering of currency, coin machine balancing, cash dispenser system and the balancing of the vault.
  • Assists in the compliance of Bank Secrecy.
  • May provide notary services for customers.
  • Maintains current knowledge of and adheres to the BSA policy.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.


REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations before they become larger issues.


OTHER SKILLS

Must have the ability to be a strong participant in team efforts, make effective use of technology to perform work functions, display the ability to respond quickly to new procedures and instructions.
