Controller

Somos Group, with locations in Los Angeles and San Francisco, is currently hiring a Controller. This is a full-time, hybrid position. Candidates can be located in Los Angeles, or San Francisco.

We are seeking an experienced and driven Controller to join our administrative team. As a key member of our organization, the Controller will play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial health and stability of our operations, supporting our mission-driven initiatives, and contributing to our continued growth and success. Responsibilities:

· Collaborate with executive management to make important financial decisions, providing timely and accurate financial information, analysis, and recommendations aligned with our organizational objectives.

· Prepare comprehensive financial documents such as business reports, financial forecasts, and statements to evaluate the financial performance of our initiatives and inform strategic planning efforts.

· Supervise and mentor employees within the finance department, fostering a culture of excellence, integrity, and collaboration.

· Monitor and analyze financial reports to identify opportunities for cost reduction, efficiency enhancement, and revenue generation, supporting the long-term sustainability and growth of our organization.

· Stay informed about developments in the financial market and regulatory landscape to ensure compliance with legal requirements and best practices, mitigating risks and maximizing opportunities.

· Understand the financial status of our organization and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to foster transparency, accountability, and trust.

· Lead financial planning and budgeting processes, working closely with departmental leaders to align financial resources with strategic priorities and performance objectives.

Qualifications:

· Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex financial concepts and insights to diverse audiences, including executive management and external partners.

· Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret financial data, conduct meaningful analysis, and make data-driven recommendations.

· Proficiency in financial management principles, practices, and tools, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and risk management.

· Knowledge of international finance and experience working in diverse cultural contexts is desirable.

· Highly organized with exceptional project management capabilities, able to prioritize competing demands and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

· Bachelor's degree in economics, business administration, accounting, finance, or a related field; Related experience may substitute for degree requirements.

· Professional certifications such as Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Treasury Professional (CTP), or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) are advantageous but not necessary.

· Several years of experience in financial management or a related field, with a proven track record of success in leadership roles, especially in new organizations, law firms or consulting firms.

Salary Expectations: Salary for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications and the expected range is $90,000-$120,000/year.
