What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Clerk position at Sonac?
Summary
Primary responsibilities of the Maintenance Clerk are to manage the maintenance work order flow process, updated Maintenance S.O.P.'s and Preventive Maintenance schedule(s) while tracking monthly budgets and part inventories by performing the following duties personally or through assigned personnel.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Safety and Security - Observes safety and security procedures; Determines appropriate action beyond guidelines; Reports potentially unsafe conditions; Uses equipment and materials properly.
- Food Safety and Quality - Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; Looks for ways to improve and promote quality; applies feedback to improve performance; Monitors own work to ensure quality.
- Create purchase orders for all non-raw materials related to engineering, maintenance, laboratory, production, and office.
- Monitors maintenance budget (monthly and annual) vs spending daily and reports weekly, or as requested, on total spend.
- Reviews all work orders to assure time and materials are properly accounted for.
- Distributes completed work orders to correct person(s) for review and final approval.
- Closes out work orders after job has been completed.
- Files satisfactorily completed work orders in the correct unit folders.
- Ensure parts are entered, stored, and tracked in JDE.
- Maintains adequate spare parts inventory to ensure minimal downtime due to lack of parts.
- Maintains a critical spare part list.
- Updates and adds preventative maintenance program within JDE.
- Work with AP to resolve supplier invoice issues in ISP.
- Work with suppliers on any invoice discrepancies.
- Improve all support and service systems, insuring consistency and implementation across group lines.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules and regulations.
- Coordinate the implementation of new procedures.
- Manage administrative assistant responsibilities for Engineering and Maintenance Departments.
- Work with other office personnel to train on JDE, export, import, inventory, and any other system or learning process needed.
- Distribute month end reports in a timely manner.
- Complete monthly cycle count and submit within the month expected.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED), AND
- Minimum two to three years related experience, OR
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Must demonstrate ability to work in high stress environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Manufacturing environment experience preferred.
- Ability to manage time effectively, work independently and display solid follow up techniques.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Exceptional problem solving & organizational skills; works proactively, able to multi-task.
- Proficient computer skills.
Physical Demands
- Frequently required to sit, reach with hands and arms.
- Occasionally walk, stand, balance, stoop, bend and kneel.
- Occasionally must push, pull, move or lift up to 50 lbs.
- Regularly required to reach with hands and arms.
Work Environment
Job functions will be carried out in a manufacturing environment; the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; chemicals; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
