SUMMARY
To plan, develop, organize, implement and monitor policies and procedures to ensure efficient operation of the community and the provision of high quality services to its residents. Organize information pertaining to the operation of the community so as to evaluate, monitor, and continually improve its success.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Maintains communication and positive relationships with residents and resident family members. Upholds Resident Rights.
- Acts as the designated administrative authority and oversees day to day operation including trouble shooting and problem solving as needed.
- Oversees compliance with government agencies such as Department of Social Services AHCA, County Health Dept., State Fire Marshal, and City Agencies.
- Supervises department managers and support staff.
- Oversees all personnel matters including: payroll budget, insurance’s (health & dental) disability and workers compensation, team member relations & grievances, team member policies & procedures, sick leave, vacation, bonus hours, holidays, work schedules, recruitment, screening, hiring & termination of all staff, staff training & professional development, internal company communications, team member compliance with safety program, and team member supervision, evaluations, raises, & disciplinary actions.
- Performs special internal project management.
- Oversees department budget (labor & operating expenses).
- Oversees independent third party organizations providing services within the community (beautician, masseur, manicurist, home health care).
- Handles emergencies and is available phone 24 hours per day.
- Assures that all personnel, residents, visitors, etc. follow established safety regulations to include fire protection/prevention, smoking regulations, infection control, etc.
- Reviews accident/incident reports and establish effective accident prevention program.
- Authorizes the purchase of major equipment/supplies in accordance with established purchasing policies and procedures.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include supervision of subordinate supervisor(s) who supervise resident care, marketing, food service, lifestyle and environmental service staff. He/She carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company's policies and applicable laws.
COMPANY WIDE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supports a dignified and caring atmosphere with residents, residents' families, visitors and team members.
- Protects privacy and confidentiality of information pertaining to the resident, team member, residence, company information and records.
- Maintains a safe and secure working environment and practices safe working habits.
- Complies with the attendance policy.
- Complies with the cell phone and social media policies.
- Maintains neat appearance, good personal hygiene and appropriate attire per company dress code.
- Participates in training, in services and attends meetings when required.
- Assists with special projects as assigned and performs other related duties.
QUALIFICATIONS

Prior to presence in the community, applicant must have completed a Post Hire Health Questionnaire upon offer of employment. A TB test result must be received with 7 days of employment. Previous TB test results cannot be older than 6 months; chest x-ray results 2 years. A Criminal Record Clearance is required prior to team member’s starting date.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
Demonstrated strong leadership skills; Strong written and verbal communication skills; Ability to analyze operational and financial systems and develop written plans; Ability to interface effectively with other departments including Marketing, Quality Services, Finance, Human Resources, Facilities Management, etc…
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Must be at least 21 years of age and posses a Bachelor’s degree or at least three years of appropriate work experience, a current C.O.R.E. Executive Director’s certification and a current first-aid training certificate. Additionally, must have business training and must comply with 12 hours of continuing education annually (24 hours of C.E.U.s every two years). Must have demonstrated knowledge of the requirements for providing care and supervision of appropriate to the residents. Must have knowledge of an ability to conform to the applicable laws, rules, and regulations. Must have ability to maintain or supervise the maintenance of financial and other records. Must be able to direct the work of others. Must possess good character and a continuing reputation of personal integrity.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from team members, residents and families, regulatory agencies, and members of the business community. Ability to write speeches, articles or publications to conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to all levels of team members and public or private groups. Ability to effectively communicate in English.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as commissions and percentages.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
State required license. Valid driver’s license. Valid first-aid certification.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Proficient with MSWord, MSExcel, MSPowerPoint, MSOutlook, and other systems knowledge is helpful. Basic typing skills essential.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Position requires the ability to stand, reach, bend/stoop/crouch, push/pull/lift/carry up to 50lbs, twisting/ turning and repetitive motion

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Primarily works in an office setting. Must be able to travel as required by job responsibilities and have access to private vehicle for business use.
