Counter Sales
Summary:
Do you have a passion for learning and love working with people? Our Counter Sales Rep have the opportunity to join an industry leader offering our clients the lowest cost of doing business giving customers the greatest long-term value. You'll service walk-in and phone-in customers at counter showroom by selling electrical supplies and solutions, processing orders from customers, establishing and improving relationships with our valued customers while developing personal technical knowledge of our products sold.
Our ideal candidate will have some electrical customer service or sales experience, and enjoys working with customers face-to-face. Our customer base is mainly electrical contractors and commercial accounts.
What you’ll do:
- Greets customers on sales floor
- Handles difficulties with customers and coworkers with diplomacy and seek assistance when needed
- Resolves customer order problems and complaints promptly
- Displays merchandise, suggests selections that meet customer's needs, and emphasizes selling points of article such as quality and utility
- Acquires and continuously develops personal technical knowledge of general and specialty electrical products to assist customers and other company personnel
- Determines make, type, and quality of product desired by being familiar with products sold in the department by use, vendor, location in warehouse, catalog and catalog number, other reference materials, and special selling points
- Describes or demonstrates product, using samples or catalog, and emphasizes salable features
- Identifies and uses appropriate company and/or customer pricing systems
- Provides oral and written quotations or estimates of prices, terms and delivery for standard, complex or non-standard products
- Prepares cash or charge sales tickets with required identification, necessary information for customer, product, price, and sales tax status for processing, shipment and delivery of merchandise in a timely manner
What you need:
- 2+ years electrical customer service/sales experience highly preferred
- Strong communication skills along with strong math and computer skills
- Ability to adapt quickly to changes. Open to learning a new proprietary computer software system
- High School Diploma required. Some college or vocational school experience is helpful
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
