Reporting to the Assistant Director of Accounting, the Junior Accountant is mainly responsible for managing entire accounts payable (A/P) process on a weekly basis, including invoice review, invoice entry, and payment run. In addition, the Jr. Accountant will assist the Assistant Director of Accounting with the month-end and year-end closes by making accurate and timely entries for AP and AR. The position is required to be detail-oriented and highly organized, while working effectively/ collaboratively within the team and with other departments. The Finance Department provides a supportive work environment with opportunities for growth. The Accounting Specialist will work very closely with other staff members in the finance department, as well as other departments.

Responsibilities:
- Accounts Payables processing – specifically handling the corporate credit cards
- Accounts Receivables – specifically focused on cash receipts
- Working with the Accounting Manager, handle the tasks related to corporate credit card reconciliation process.
- Reconcile reports with statement
- Ensure that transactions follow internal guidelines and policies
- Ensure that coding is accurate and consistent
- Working with the A/R Specialist, process daily cash receipts, and handle the accounts receivable processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance/ Accounting or related field
- 1-3 years of relevant and progressive work experience with a Non-profit organization
- Solid understanding of not-for-profit accounting principles and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong ability to analyze financial information and reports
- Advanced working knowledge and proficiency in MS Excel
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and strong follow-through
- Work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment as well as independently
- Manage multiple tasks in fast-paced work environment and meet deadlines
- Knowledge of financial software operations
