What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lab Technician position at SONIFI Solutions, Inc.?

We are looking for a Lab Technician who will maintain all development and testing systems terminals, and local distribution to ensure necessary system performance and uptime. This position facilitates the tracking and management of inventory and non-inventory (samples) items through each process of ordering, receiving, distribution, logging, categorization, notification, returning, and reporting. This role also expedites the ordering (and/or returning) of parts from the warehouse by completing appropriate order forms, picking up and delivering parts. Job Skills & Qualifications  High School diploma or equivalent with a minimum of two years of post- secondary education or have an equivalent combination of education and experience.  Previous work experience in the CATV, MATV or PPV field is preferred.  Prefer previous experience with installing / supporting PPV systems.  Must have previous experience working a personal computer with working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Clarify.  Must possess good organizational, written, and customer relation skills with experience handling multiple projects and speaking directly with customers and technicians.  Must possess good Interpersonal Relationship skills.  Must have strong written and oral communications, grammar and spelling skills, including telephone proficiency.  UNIX experience is beneficial. Job Responsibilities Maintain all development and testing systems. Responsible for general functionality, organization, and tidiness of Software Development, Systems Testing, and Interactive Design development/testing systems. Maintain adequate system content and schedules to ensure maximum rack functionality and usability. Help maintains all current software versions and hardware platforms operational to ensure systems are up to date. May be required to perform testing of product to assist development and testing groups. Maintain system logs for each system identifying changes and errors when identified. Maintain, track, and manage accurate inventory counts on all development and testing equipment. Order and return inventory by using corporate systems and by physically going to the warehouse to pick-up, or drop-off this inventory. Track equipment sent to remote staff, suppliers, and other 3rd party companies from engineering and assist with Equipment Loan Agreements when required, filling out the Shipping Request Form and taking items down to the Warehouse for shipment. Receive, distribute, and return (when necessary) all sample parts. Promote low consumed inventory levels by tracking and returning unnecessary equipment to the warehouse. Must be proficient in the use common troubleshooting equipment: Field strength meter. Spectrum analyzer. Oscilloscope. Digital voltmeter. Common hand and small power tools. Visual Acuity The work associated with this position involves the use of a computer terminal, reading LCD meter screens, and extensive reading and transcription of data for reports.
