What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production maintenance position at Sonoco?
Position : Production and Maintenance Technician
Shift : Fixed with variation while training
Pay Rate : $30.40
Location : Chestnut Hill, TN
While reporting to the Plant Engineer OR Maintenance Supervisor, as the Production and Maintenance Technician, you will operate and maintain high-speed steel packaging production equipment. .
What You’ll Be Doing :
- Own and follow Safety policies and procedures.
- Complete training from positions of Production Associate to Assembly Mechanic.
- Perform preventative maintenance as required.
- Perform various manual or mechanical production functions by operating, adjusting, and repairing the equipment.
- Conduct inspection of in-process and finished products and adhere to quality standards.
- Jointly responsible for required operating data such as production figures, machine performance, efficiencies, maintenance, quality / spoilage.
- Record keeping of job tasks on paper and in computer system.
- Supply and maintain required hand tools. (6-month tie frame)
- Perform clean-up, painting, and housekeeping duties.
We’d love to hear from you if :
- You have experience in an industrial environment or military experience troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining manufacturing equipment
- Experience with PLC troubleshooting, industrial and motor controls a plus
- Comfortable with mechanical lifts, ladders, kneeling, bending and twisting; lifting up to 50 lbs
- Working independently and managing multiple tasks in an off shift position with rotating shifts that will require overtime including weekends
