Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Biller to join our team. As a Medical Biller, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely billing for medical services. This position requires strong knowledge of medical coding, billing systems, and terminology.
- Review and verify accuracy of patient demographic and insurance information
- Assign appropriate medical codes (ICD-10, DRG) to diagnoses and procedures
- Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies electronically or by mail
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims and resubmit as necessary
- Process payments from insurance companies and patients
- Maintain accurate records of all billing activities
- Collaborate with medical office staff to resolve billing issues
- Stay up-to-date with changes in coding regulations and requirements
Skills:
- Proficient in medical coding, including knowledge of ICD-10 and ICD-9 codes
- Familiarity with medical billing systems and software
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and procedures
- Knowledge of insurance guidelines and reimbursement processes
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Minimum of 5 years of Medical Billing
- Certification in Medical Billing is a plus
- Proficient in using computer software for data entry and record keeping
