Medical Billing Specialist

JOB SUMMARY:

Provides support to the Billing Manager for all aspects within the billing department. The Billing Specialist will play a crucial role by ensuring the accurate and timely processing of medical bills and claims. This role involves thorough review and assignment of billing codes, precise submission of insurance claims, and proactive verification of patient insurance coverage. The specialist ensures compliance with coding standards, resolves discrepancies in payments, and maintains organized billing records. Effective communication with insurance companies and patients is crucial, making the role integral to the financial health of Sooner Mobile X-Ray. The position demands attention to detail, adherence to regulations, and a commitment to providing clear explanations to patients.

ORGANIZATION RELATIONSHIPS:

Under direct supervision of the Billing Manager and/or his or her designee, the Billing Specialist will provide support to the Billing Manager. The Billing Specialist should possess a knowledge of company operations and expectations set forth by the leadership team.

Supervision Received: Works under direct supervision of the Billing Manager. Position requires a 90-day evaluation to review performance and fit.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: High school diploma or GED

Licensure: Certification(s) in medical billing, coding, and/or credentialing preferred but not required.

Other: Proficiency in using billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology and coding preferred.

Experience: Previous experience in medical billing and familiarity with healthcare coding systems and billing procedures preferred but not required.

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
