With a team of three highly skilled ophthalmologists, we are committed to excellence in patient care and the advancement of eye health. To support our growth and ensure the highest standards of financial management, we are seeking a seasoned Controller to join our team.

Department: Administrative
Job Type: Full-Time, Exempt, Monday - Friday, 5 days per week, 8 hours per day.

In-person interviews are required for all positions.

The Controller will be a key member of our management team, providing strategic management of our practice's financial operations and Revenue Cycle, including leadership of the Revenue Cycle and business office team of 10-14 staff. This role encompasses financial planning, analysis, compliance, and reporting, aiming to enhance our financial health, ensure regulatory compliance, appropriate reimbursement, optimize systems and support strategic growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

- Financial Management: Oversee budgeting, financial forecasting, and cash flow for the practice. Implement financial strategies aligned with our goals.

- Compliance and Reporting: Ensure adherence to state and federal financial regulations. Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and reports for the doctors and stakeholders.

- Strategic Planning: Participate in strategic planning meetings, providing insights and forecasts to guide decision-making and growth.

- Operational Efficiency: Evaluate and improve financial and administrative processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. Managing purchases and payments for practice expenses (including high-cost drugs).

- Leadership: Effectively and professionally lead, develop, coach, and improve training, education and skillset of business office and Revenue Cycle department staff to ensure success of department, individual staff growth, and growth and success of the practice.

- Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the key financial contact for partners, suppliers, and external stakeholders, maintaining positive and productive relationships.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.

- Proven experience in financial management, preferably in the healthcare sector, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, Retina physician practice experience a plus.

- Strong understanding of tax laws, healthcare regulations, and compliance standards in Washington State.

- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills; ability to interpret complex financial data.

- Proficient in financial software, including Healthcare Practice Management & EMR systems, medical records, and Microsoft Office Suite.

- Enhanced knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding preferred.

- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities, coaching, facilitation, organizational, personnel management, with the skill to present financial information clearly to non-financial colleagues.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $120,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
