Job Description: The Director of Product Development is responsible for translating the long term strategic direction of the company into a 3-6 month product roadmap in the form of new product development and as well as improvements to the existing product. The Director of Product Development directly leads and manages a team of Product Managers and Designers. The candidate will regularly collaborate with functional leads from Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, and Engineering, along with key customers to develop new product ideas and support the continuous improvement of existing products and product packages.
Responsibilities:
- Leadership: Leads product management and design teams for requirements elicitation and project execution in a fast-paced, agile software development environment.
- Product Roadmap Strategy & Prioritization: Directs a comprehensive product strategy from conception and definition through end of life. Creates and manages technical roadmaps and helps set and lead technology strategy in partnership with the Engineering team.
- Product Execution & Delivery: Oversee delivery of high-quality, scalable, and cost-effective technology solutions that meet global business requirements and conform to architectural designs and technology strategies
- Leads and manages the product development and management process for a product/platform or service within a business. Develops market inquiry/outreach plans and interprets results of product/platform opportunities. Develops relationships with existing customers including business heads or C-Suite executives with the goal of fostering continued use of SP Global products/platforms or services as well as identifying new products based on their needs.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration & Voice of Customer: Collaborates closely with partners across the organization including Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, and Engineering teams to ensure that the voice of the customer is being captured in new product development initiatives to ensure Sourcemap products continue to meet evolving customer needs.
- Other duties as assigned
Experience Requirements:
- 10 years’ product development and management experience in an agile environment
- 5 years leading teams in agile methodologies, with a track record of leading, mentoring and motivating staff
- Experience working in a dynamic, fast-growing organization
- Experience with Security and Compliance
- Familiarity with cloud architectures (e.g Azure or AWS), virtual environments and cloud security practices
