Job Responsibilities
With our Agency's mission to support the recovery of people with mental illnesses, we provide a complete array of medical and support services for children, adults, and families throughout South Carolina.
This position is located at the Department of Mental Health, Coastal Empire Community Mental Health Center, 151 Dillon Drive, Hilton Head, SC 29928.
Provides direct clinical services to children, adolescents and their families in the clinic and school setting. Provides assessments and crisis management, as well as individual, group and family therapy as needed. Ensures documentation of all services provided following established guidelines.
Provides consultation/education activities and case management on behalf of our consumers to community agencies as requested, under the supervision of the Clinic Director of the Hilton Head Office.
Participates as indicated in CAF and team staffings with other mental health professionals. (School officials, community agencies-DSS,COSY).
Attend weekly supervision with supervisor.
Provides consultation and assists in coordination of hospital admissions and placement of children and adolescents. Provides follow-up after discharge.
Participates in school related activities such as PTO’s, classroom presentations, and other extra-curricula-related activities in support of client (student) relations.
Other: Provides other related duties and limited consultation/educational activities in the community upon request and approval by supervisor
In order to be credentialed for core services as a Mental Health Professional at the SC Department of Mental Health, applicants must provide evidence of clinical experience providing direct patient care. This experience may be documented as a practicum or internship during graduate program, or post-graduate clinical experience. Minimum And Additional Requirements
State: Master’s degree in guidance, counseling ,social sciences, or related field.
DMH: Master’s degree in guidance, counseling or the social sciences; 1 year of experience in a clinical counseling program; and state licensed or licensed eligible.

Preferred Qualifications
Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.
