BBS is seeking an individual who will organize and manage the Core Facility within the Division of Basic Biomedical Sciences. The position will require scientific knowledge, experience in research projects and approaches for interpreting data, providing consulting and advice, and training of faculty/staff/students in the use of the Core Facilities (Behavior, Physiology, Microscopy, Flow Cytometry, and others). Experience translating experimental findings into presentations, publications, and grant applications will be necessary.
This individual will provide leadership and supervision in the lab, including planning, inventory, coordination, implementation, and conducting research with minimal supervision. Extensive experience, understanding, and knowledge of experimental designs, protocols, and the care and use of specialized equipment are necessary. Typical tasks include but are not limited to, consulting and advising faculty, keeping an inventory of equipment and equipment maintenance, supervising junior-level research personnel and students, conceptualizing and organizing ideas that lead to proposals for new research projects, participating as a senior or contributing author on publications, and acting as key personnel on grant applications.
