CRH Americas Materials is currently seeking a Category Manager to support our Logistics category within our South Division. The candidate selected for this role may be located in any of our locations within the South Division to include: Tampa, FL; Daytona Beach, FL; Orlando, FL; Birmingham, AL; Richland, MS; Greensboro, NC; Knoxville, TN; Memphis, TN; Irving, TX; Beaumont, TX; Cedar Park, TX; Metairie, LA.
Position Overview
This position is a key resource in driving reductions in total costs and strategically managing supplier relationships to improve CRH’s profitability and competitive position. The Logistics Category Manager is responsible for managing spend categories and is accountable for implementing all category related decisions regarding products and services on a local level. As a member of the global category team, this role will utilize the category management process to develop strategies, execute tenders, establish effective supply programs and manage the overall success of the programs. The role ensures that local business requirements are considered in the category strategy. The Logistics Category Manager will work directly with suppliers, CRH procurement personnel, specifiers, subject matter experts, management, and other key internal stakeholders to ensure program objectives are achieved.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Representative and lead category manager for own and other CRH product-group organizations
- Primary category contact person for the business in the Logistical aspects of organization
- Acts as escalation for claims not solved locally
- Ensure the category strategy is executed locally
- Execute the RFX and tactical process including negotiation for smaller or single-country categories
- Coordinates all category activities within a country during bid and project execution phase
- Is accountable for development, execution, and maintenance of country procurement strategy and Project Procurement Plans
- Alignment with country stakeholders as well as market and global procurement strategies
- Accountable for procurement KPI Performance Management and process adherence in the country, within own area of responsibility
- Ensures execution of S2P process (from screening to onboarding and lifecycle management) for Logistics suppliers
- Maintains strategic relationships with key country suppliers
- Develop and maintain strategic relationship with Logistics stakeholders
- Analyses supply market, anticipates changes, and drives associated procurement activities
- Evaluates contracts and suppliers to facilitate final supplier base decisions with relevant stakeholders
- Ensures products and services are purchased in the most cost- and time-efficient manner, implements and ensures purchasing best practices
- Coordinates category and supplier strategy implementation in the country

Education/Experience
- Educated with a Technical or Business Degree
- 5 years of transportation/logistics/supply-chain experience preferred
- Experienced in working with category management in a multi-country organization
- Experience in managing LTL/FTL, rail, ocean, air, parcel, and 3rd party haulers highly preferred
- Fluent written and verbal English is a must, other languages are considered a plus
- Willing to cooperate in international projects
