Position Summary

We are looking for a reliable and competent individual to use computer numerically controlled machinery safely and accurately to perform pre-programmed functions. Under direct supervision you will learn and assist in producing high quality materials used for fabrication. A keen eye for detail and mechanical aptitude are essential.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Strong verbal communication – required to effectively communicate, receive instruction, and guidance.
  • Set up and operate computer-controlled machines to perform one or more machine functions on aluminum extrusions.
  • Measure dimensions of prepped aluminum extrusions to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments and templates.

· Detecting and reporting defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.

  • Conduct regular maintenance checks and troubleshooting on CNC machines to ensure optimal operation and prevent downtime.
  • Collaborate with team members to refine manufacturing processes and introduce innovative solutions for machining challenges.
  • Must have 20/20 corrected vision.
  • Required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stretch and crouch all day and include the ability to frequently lift/carry items over 50 lbs.
  • Required to wear required protection equipment.
  • Performing other work-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Preferred hands-on experience with CNC milling and/or turning machines, including setup and operation, with a focus on precision and adherence to technical specifications.

· Must be able to read and interpret drawings, use simple math, and use basic hand-held measuring tools.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to plant environment to include, but not limited to, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, contained toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and flammable elements. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The following PPE (personal protective equipment) will be required; safety glasses, safety toe shoes, ear plugs and cut resistant gloves
