Summary: The job of STAFF ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT – SOUTH KITSAP HIGH SCHOOL is done for the purpose of providing clerical support for the South Kitsap High School.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists staff, students, public, parents, etc. for the purpose of providing appropriate communication, information and/or direction as may be required.
  • Attends meetings and training for the purpose of updating skills and gathering and sharing information.
  • Maintains records and files (e.g. leave/payroll, correspondence, classroom use, calendars and schedules) for the purpose of providing accurate information and/or documentation for student and staff information.
  • Prepares documents (e.g. reports, correspondence, payroll data, schedules) for the purpose of communicating information to school and district personnel, the public, state officials, etc.
  • Supports principal and/or other administrative personnel for the purpose of assisting them in their administrative functions.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions requires the following physical demands: occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing; some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally, the job requires 80% sitting, 10% walking and 10% standing. The job is performed under minimal temperature variations, a generally hazard free environment, and in a clean atmosphere.

 

Education and Experience:

  • High School graduate or equivalent;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office preferred;
  • Job related experience with increasing levels of responsibility is required;
  • Expertise to perform single technical tasks;
  • Targeted job-related education that meets the District’s prerequisite requirements.

Clearances:

  • Washington State Patrol and FBI Fingerprint Background Clearance.

Certificates:

  • Valid Washington State Driver's License required (must be able to fulfill all traveling requirements of this position, including possessing and maintaining a valid license and automobile insurance, when using a personal vehicle for District business).
