What are the responsibilities and job description for the Activities Assistant - Part Time position at South Mountain Memory Care?
South Mountain Memory Care is looking to hire a Part Time Activities Assistant.
We are a 28-bed memory care facility that was established in 2018. We are currently looking to add an Activities Assistant to our team!
Shift: Days and early evenings, every other weekend required. Approximately 15-20 hours per week.
Holidays: Every other holiday
Training: Training will be provided on site as part of your orientation and shadowing. Prior experience with dementia residents is preferred.
Job Duties:
- Leading group activities including reading, crafting, movies, painting, etc.
- Assist with planned community outings.
- Ability to push wheeled carts or lift up to 15lbs.
- Ability to lead one-on-one activities that engage residents
- Demonstrate leadership with a positive, energetic and create imagination. Demonstrate motivational skills to encourage resident participation and redirection.
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Prior experience working with the geriatric population preferred.
- Prior experience with dementia residents is preferred.
