Lead Duties:
- Facilitates daily work-flow efficiency
- Guides, directs, and motivates support staff to perform assigned tasks
- Assists with training of new staff in completing clinical skills checklists
- Ordering: ensures supplies/inventory are adequate for the unit using appropriate vendors
- Ensures all scheduled reports are distributed to appropriate areas in a timely fashion
- Assists in troubleshooting day to day unit concerns with staff and providers
- Vaccine Manager
- Additional administrative duties as delegated from supervisor
- Reports directly to Practice Manager
- Oversees paramedic workflow at practice, manages staff sick calls, floats as needed, reports all changes and/or concerns to Practice Manager for guidance as needed.
- Maintain patient's safe passage in and out of the practice
- Greet, assess and interview patients
- Obtain past medical and surgical history, family history, social history, vital signs
- Review present medications, allergy history, chief complaint
- Prepare and assist patients for examination, treatment, or procedure by medical staff
- Anticipate needs of patients and the provider
- Monitoring of patient during examination or procedure
- Maintain and update level of skill for pertinent medical assistant duties
- Maintain patient care areas
- Stocking and ordering of supplies as needed, and maintaining clean exam rooms
- Charge and code supplies, medications, and procedures
- Respond to patient's concerns in person or by telephone while simultaneously documenting the problem
- Maintains patient confidentiality
- Administers medications and IVs per physician's orders
- Perform a variety of preliminary procedures, including phlebotomy, injections, throat cultures and more
Maintains Clinical Staff Annual Competencies
Participates in Safety Rounds
Qualifications:
- Current Massachusetts Paramedic Licensure
- Current ACLS/BLS licensure
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Team Player
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Weekends and Holidays to meet department needs
