General Statement of Job:
The Professional Development Specialist leads the logistical coordination, communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to support Professional and Organizational Development initiatives, projects, and grants. Contributes to the development and implementation of training sessions; develops multimedia materials such as booklets, flyers, short videos and training materials for a wide variety of projects; and maintains the Office of Professional and Organizational Development (OPOD) webpage and system. Deliver trainings and presentations for groups and individuals to meet faculty and staff needs.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Leads the logistical coordination, communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
Develop training materials in a variety of formats (ie. website, video clips, guides, handbooks, curricula).
Works closely with the OPOD team to provide support for all academies, workshops and events offered by the Office of Professional and Organizational Development including the creation of materials for professional development activities such as booklets, pamphlets, catalogs, brochures, posters, newspapers, and web pages.
Assists in the development of marketing materials and strategies.
Operates digital and video cameras, edits, and produces video and pictures to capture showcase of best practices, presentations and events.
Prepares project timelines, reports and other documents as requested.
Monitors project progress toward established deliverables and successful completion of the academies and rewards.
Assists in development and implementation of College-Wide Professional and Organizational Development activities/events for full-time faculty and staff, adjunct faculty, and new faculty.
Responsible for updating and maintenance of the OPOD website and printing materials that ensure a look and feel consistent with South Texas College.
Responsible for updating and maintenance of the professional development system, creating workshops, assisting faculty and staff with registration, and system training.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelors Degree required, preferably in Business, Communication, Marketing, or related field.
At least two (2) years of experience in organizing events required.
Experience in a higher education institution, preferred.
