Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized individual to join our team as an experienced Medical Scribe. As a Medical Scribe, you will work closely with healthcare professionals to accurately transcribe medical documentation and assist with various administrative tasks. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in the medical field to gain hands-on experience and contribute to the efficient operation of a medical office.
Duties:
- Accurately transcribe medical documentation, including patient histories, physical examinations, procedures, and treatment plans
- Assist healthcare professionals with documenting patient encounters in real-time
- Organize and maintain medical records, ensuring they are up-to-date and easily accessible
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and complete documentation
- Retrieve and review patient information from electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Prepare electronic charts prior to patient encounter and distribute medical reports, including laboratory results and imaging studies
- Assist with quality projects such as PCMH and MSSP.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
- Familiarity with primary care procedures and coding is a plus
- Proficient in typing and data entry
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in medical assisting or related field is required. Associates Degree (or other 2-year degree) preferred.
- Previous experience working as a scribe with medical providers
