WHAT YOU'LL DO:
As a Medical Physicist, you will be responsible for planning/coordinating activities of Radiation Physics for the Radiation Oncology Center. You will supervise function of specialized activities in the department which include calibration of equipment and accelerators, dosimetry, treatment planning; in compliance with Federal and Local rules and regulations. You will oversee maintenance and repair of radiation equipment; in which you will assure appropriate documentation. You will oversee Quality Assurance Program for radiation therapy treatment units and computer treatment planning systems. You will track new developments in research associated with improvement of quality care in treatment of radiation oncology patients. You will assess and consult with Medical Director and Administrative Leaders regarding capital equipment needs. For our team members, this is more than a career — it’s a calling.
BACKGROUND:
- Master of Science preferred, however other appropriate physical science degree accepted – or Doctoral Degree in Medical Physics or related discipline.
- 3 years’ accelerator/source calibrations, knowledge of NRC and statewide rules/regulations
- Certified or board eligible by the American Board of Radiology or ABMP.
