Scope


This position is responsible for the company's flow of inventory and sales order allocation. The Expeditor Team collaborates with the Replenishment Team to achieve optimal Fill Rate, Service Level, Turns, and Order Fulfillment targets. A key responsibility of this position is to work in a collaborative manner within the Expeditor Team in order to ensure timely support to internal customers.

The Team is expected to work together cohesively, towards a common goal, creating a positive working atmosphere, while supporting each other to combine individual strengths to enhance the team's performance.


Duties and Responsibilities


  • Follow-up and confirm on all vendor open purchase orders updating expected due dates, backorders, shortages, etc...
  • Review and manage inventory allocation for all warehouses using current processes and procedures. Responsible for releasing "M" Hold codes to items, when necessary, flagging items for transfers and specials.
  • Identify and process drop ship orders. Responsible for confirming with vendors and ensuring orders are billed accurately. Review "DS" holds daily.
  • Identify and process incorrect, defective, or damaged shipments from vendors and process necessary paperwork to Return to Vendor.
  • Process Return to Vendor paperwork and communicate with Accounts Payable.
  • Responsible for communicating any potential vendor discrepancies with appropriate personnel i.e. vendor, location, accounts payable, etc.
  • Process inter-branch transfers for backordered and help items.
  • Work closely with Replenishment Team and Warehouse personnel to determine proper inventory levels and the feasibility of inventory requests based on the established stocking criteria
  • Update Stock Status Change Forms (SSC) into APLUS
  • Responsible for running ABR at a set schedule.
  • Responsible for managing the company's open order report in relation to the following order types: B (Backorder), and F (Future)
  • Maintain Service Level, Fill Rate and inventory objectives as identified by metrics.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Requirements:


  • A minimum of two years of experience in inventory management and purchasing.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Great verbal and written communication, detail-oriented, critical analysis, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to professionally interact with a wide range of key executive members and management.
  • The ability to work effectively as a team member by reviewing the amount of inbound work of the team and making independent decisions regarding assisting others in ensuring daily demands are fulfilled.
  • Good analytical skills and proficiency level in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Good mathematical skills with the ability to perform basic math operations.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to follow through on assignments and prioritize workflow with some supervision.
  • Capable of assimilating information quickly and reaching conclusions.
  • Full understanding of the Purchasing Module of all applicable ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems preferred.
  • Previous AS400 (APLUS) experience preferred.
